Dream Job: Managerial position in a Fortune 500 company
Biggest Impact on your UM-Flint Experience: "Elizabeth Collardey from the Social Work department. I met her before I had intentions of attending the University. Since then, we have developed a strong relationship and she is there to give me support and provide me with opportunities."
Engaged Learning Experience: "I am also an Orientation Leader, and a big part of the first-year orientation sessions is to provide the students with getting involved around the community through the community outreach center. With the information I have received about volunteering and giving time back to the city, I am looking forward to volunteering and improving the community one step at a time."
There are now more college students in the metro-Flint area than there are autoworkers.
Nearly 33,000 college students are currently enrolled among Flint’s institutions of higher learning. This transformation from “car town” to “college town” is still in its early stages, but there is already a great deal to be excited about.
On all campuses, for all students, the perfect college experience is a very personal idea.
Your interests. Your passions. Your friends. Your fun. Your future. It's all about your choice, your voice.
At the University of Michigan-Flint, students have the power to create their own "college experience" and—perhaps even more exciting—the opportunity to participate in the re-imagining of what a college town and a city like Flint can be.
