UM-Flint will delay opening until 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017

The University of Michigan-Flint will delay opening until 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 17, 2017 due to road conditions and the weather forecast. Only essential personnel should report. All classes, events and activities scheduled to begin before 1 p.m. Tuesday are cancelled.

There are now more college students in the metro-Flint area than there are autoworkers.

Nearly 33,000 college students are currently enrolled among Flint’s institutions of higher learning. This transformation from “car town” to “college town” is still in its early stages, but there is already a great deal to be excited about.

On all campuses, for all students, the perfect college experience is a very personal idea.

Your interests. Your passions. Your friends. Your fun. Your future. It's all about your choice, your voice.

At the University of Michigan-Flint, students have the power to create their own "college experience" and—perhaps even more exciting—the opportunity to participate in the re-imagining of what a college town and a city like Flint can be.
