Why study Engineering Science?
You’re a problem solver. You enjoy using your scientific and mathematical knowledge to find solutions. The field of engineering offers a variety of opportunities from hands on operations to management. Our Engineering program offers three concentrations to allow students to specialize according to their interests.
Why study Engineering Science at the University of Michigan–Flint?
- Computer Engineering. Computer Engineering focuses on programming, assembly and hardware components. Interested in research work with circuit boards, computer systems, modems and other components? This may be the engineering track for you!
- Managerial Engineering. Supplement your engineering courses by adding coursework in finance, marketing, management, and other business courses offered by our School of Management. Gain the skills and knowledge to receive a minor in General Business and put yourself on the fast track to success.
- Engineering Physics. Build on the basic physics knowledge already included in the Engineering program and set yourself apart from your peers. Enhancing your physics understanding will prepare you for continuing on to graduate studies or immediately entering the work force.

- Get involved! Meet other students in your major and make valuable networking contacts by getting involved in a club or organization like the University of Michigan–Flint chapter of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers
