UM-Flint Transfer Scholarship
The University of Michigan-Flint Transfer Scholarship is available to admitted transfer students with a cumulative transfer grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above. The scholarship covers $2,500 per year for two academic years (Fall and Winter semesters only). Students are required to maintain full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours per semester) to receive the full scholarship amount. Students enrolled for 6-8 credit hours will receive $1,250 per year and students enrolled for 9-11 hours will receive $1,875 per year. This scholarship is automatically awarded to eligible students upon admission. This scholarship is only valid for students seeking their first undergraduate degree and who are in their first semester at UM-Flint. Students who have been readmitted do not qualify as it is not their first semester at the university. Funding is limited. UM-Flint General Scholarships
UM-Flint is proud to offer many scholarships for students. The majority of scholarships are created by generous donors who believe in supporting students as they pursue their educational goals.
Each year, students have the opportunity to apply for scholarships that they are qualified for, based on specific criteria. Students are encouraged to look through the alphabetized list found here or to search by the appropriate College or School that has the student’s academic program of choice.

Go Blue Guarantee
UM-Flint students are automatically considered, upon admission, for the Go Blue Guarantee, a historic program offering free tuition for high-achieving, in-state undergraduates from lower-income households.

University Scholar Award
This award is designed for students transferring from a community college planning to complete their undergraduate degrees at UM-Flint. Those being considered must have completed at least 50 transferable credits with a grade point average of 3.8 or higher. Students must be admitted by May 1 and enrolled in the fall semester of that year. Two letters of reference and a personal statement are required. Those selected are awarded full in-state tuition and mandatory fees for two years. It is required that you enroll for Fall and maintain full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours per semester) and a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the entire duration of the scholarship.

Upon admission to the University, students will be encouraged to send in supporting documentation for scholarship consideration. Westwood Heights Lions Club Scholarship
The Westwood Heights Lions Club Scholarship is $4,000 for 2 years. Students must have at least 24 credit hours (institutional and/or transferable), with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and graduate from Hamady High School. The scholarship will be applied and divided among Fall/Winter tuition costs. Students must maintain full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours per semester) and a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the entire duration of the scholarship.

Crankstart Foundation Scholarship
Applicants must be re-entering and be full- or part-time. Applicants must also have experienced a cumulative gap in their education of five or more years, demonstrate financial need, and be pursuing their first baccalaureate degree. Bernard Osher Foundation Scholarship
Founded in 1977 by Bernard Osher, a respected businessman, and community leader. Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life through support for higher education and the arts, and provides post-secondary scholarship funding to colleges and universities across the nation, with special attention to re-entry students. UM-Flint was selected by the Osher Foundation trustees as a recipient of the Osher Re-Entry Scholarship Program. Awards are based on academic achievement for students who have had to postpone their college education for a minimum of a five-year cumulative period. Weiser Transfer Scholarship
This scholarship was made possible by a generous donation by U-M Regent Ron Weiser. Applicants must be transfer students, have full- or part-time status, pursue an undergraduate degree, and demonstrate high academic achievement. The Office of Financial Aid and Undergraduate Admissions will select recipients. Awards are not renewable. MI Community College to UM-Flint Transfer Scholarship
Students who attend a Michigan community college and display tremendous academic achievement are eligible to be considered for this one-time, $1,000 scholarship. This scholarship must be used towards full-time (12+ credit hours/semester) tuition costs during the Fall 2024 entry term. Eligible students are encouraged to submit their free application for admission and then send official transcript(s) from each institution attended. Wyatt Scholarship
Made possible through an endowment from the late Dr. Dorthea E. Wyatt, the Wyatt scholarship is an award available to declared history majors. Consideration is given to incoming history majors with a 3.0 transfer or high school GPA. It’s required that you enroll for Fall and maintain full-time enrollment (at least 12 credit hours per semester) and a minimum GPA of 3.0 for the entire duration of the scholarship. * Your continued eligibility for all of the above scholarships is dependent upon meeting UM-Flint’s academic, financial aid, and judicial standards. Failure to comply with any of the requirements will result in forfeiture of the award. If an award is forfeited, you will be responsible for any tuition charges or fees incurred.
