Mott2UM-Flint First Year Challenge Student Orientation

Mott2UM-Flint First year Challenge students are required to attend a Challenge Program Information Session at 4:00 pm on the day prior to orientation. You will begin the transition to college life through tailored programming, peer and professional support, and planned educational activities. You will become familiar with Challenge Program benefits, campus life, and will be introduced to the most effective techniques for academic achievement. Orientation at the University is a required program designed to facilitate a smooth transition to UM-Flint and assist you in making the most of your college experience. During orientation, you will discuss UM-Flint with currently enrolled students, learn strategies to being successful in the University environment, and become orientated to your new surroundings. We will review policies and procedures unique to UM-Flint including graduation requirements and much more. Before orientation is over, you will plan your schedule with the help of an academic advisor/counselor and register for your courses. All first year students are required to attend orientation to register for classes. Students must be present for the entire session. Guests are welcome to join you at 4:15 pm. There is an orientation fee which will be added to your tuition bill.
