For Faculty and Staff
The Academic Advising and Career Center (AACC) follows a model of developmental and strength based advising. We seek to assist students in achieving their academic and professional goals while focusing on the individual’s strengths in such a way as to allow them to mature academically within the Univeristy of Michigan – Flint. During this process, we are encouraging the student to be engaged with their academic departments and the University community.
Strong partnerships with the various schools, colleges and academic departments within the Univeristy of Michigan–Flint is essential in providing accurate, nurturing and engaged advising to our student population. AACC regularly consults with the academic departments to assure accuracy in advising.
Additionally, AACC seeks to provide professional career services to our student and alumni population. Students who are academically uncertain can receive assistance in defining their professional and academic goals. Under the guidance of their faculty, we can assist students in securing experiential education in the forms of co-ops, internships and volunteerism. AACC also provides assistance to students and alumni in exploring opportunities in post-graduate education, professional schools and employment.
