First-year Challenge Program Student Orientation
Freshman Orientation for Challenge Program students is required and designed to assist you in making the most of your college experience. During the first evening of orientation, you will begin the transition to college life through tailored programming, peer and professional support, and planned educational activities. You will become familiar with Challenge Program benefits, campus life, and will be introduced to the most effective techniques for academic achievement. On the second day of orientation, you will discuss the University with currently enrolled students and become oriented to your new surroundings. You will review policies and procedures unique to the University of Michigan-Flint. Before orientation is over, you will plan your fall schedule with the help of an academic advisor and register for your fall courses. All first year students are required to attend orientation to register for classes. Students must be present for the entire session. An $80 orientation fee* will be added to your tuition bill. *Fee subject to change.
