University of Michigan - Flint

Orientation for Challenge Program students is required and designed to assist you in making the most of your college experience. This orientation is a two-day event lasting from 4:00pm-5:30pm on day one and 10:30am-7:30pm on day two. Parent participation is encouraged on day one, and beginning at 4:30pm on day two.

During the first evening of orientation, you will begin the transition to college life through tailored programming, peer and professional support, and planned educational activities. You will become familiar with Challenge Program benefits, campus life, and will be introduced to the most effective techniques for academic achievement. On the second day of orientation, you will discuss the University with currently enrolled students and become orientated to your new surroundings. You will review policies and procedures unique to the University of Michigan-Flint. Before orientation is over, you will plan your fall schedule with the help of an academic advisor and register for your fall courses.  There is a $60 orientation fee which will be added to your tuition bill.*

All first-year Challenge Program students are required to attend orientation to register for classes. Students must be present for the entire session on both days.

All students must complete the online Pre-Orientation Program. During this program you will register for orientation, view required placement exams and complete other necessary steps.
