University of Michigan - Flint

Welcome Back! Once you have been readmitted to the University of Michigan-Flint there are a few things you need to know:

• Any time a student has been out of attendance for 12 consecutive months (thus becoming a Readmitting student) he or she is required to follow the catalog in effect at the time of readmission. The current catalog is available online at https://sis.umflint.edu, or you may pick up a copy in the Academic Advising & Career Center (285 University
  Pavilion).
  
  
• As a Readmitting student, you are eligible to register during open registration. You can view the semester calendar for open registration dates here: http://www.umflint.edu/registrar/calendars.htm.
  
  
• Registration is completed online via the Student Information System (SIS) at https://sis.umflint.edu.  Please see the instructions that were included with your admission letter.
  
  
• If you have never used SIS or even if it has just been a few years since you attended, take some time to explore your SIS account online. All of your records (financial, academic and personal) can be found in SIS.
  
  
• Check your UM-Flint student e-mail account regularly. You can access Webmail at https://sis.umflint.edu, in the Other UM-Flint Links section. To login, use your uniqname@umflint.edu and your Blackboard/E-mail/LAN password.
  
  
• It is highly recommended that you meet with your academic advisor. If you are uncertain where you should be advised contact us at (810) 762-3085 or advising@umflint.edu*.
  
  
• You should plan to work closely with the Academic Advising & Career Center on career planning. We will assist you with career exploration, preparation, coordinating co-ops or internships, preparing resumes, and preparing for job searching and interviewing. • While orientation is not required, we recommend that you attend an Express Orientation session. You can view more information about Express Orientation here: http://www.umflint.edu/advising/transfer_orientation.htm.
