Alumni Society Board of Governors
UM-Flint's Alumni Society is governed by twenty graduates from the University's fifty years of excellence. The group meets from September to May, once a month, with the annual meeting in late August. The purpose of the Alumni Society Board of Governors is to:
• To stimulate among its alumni a continuance of interest in the University of Michigan-Flint and the University of Michigan;
• To provide an instrument for organized effort to encourage a continued flow of outstanding student candidates for the University of Michigan-Flint;
• To furnish an avenue through which its members may become familiar with the problems and progress of the University of Michigan-Flint and thus be better enabled to assist in advancing its programs;
• To cooperate with university officials in helping to meet the University of Michigan-Flint 's needs for support from public and private sources;
• To develop a wider acquaintanceship and fellowship among alumni, faculty, and students of the University of Michigan-Flint;
• To be the official representative of the alumni body of the University of Michigan-Flint as a whole, as well as its affiliate groups, in their relations to each other, the University, the Alumni Association, and the general community; and
• To assist the University of Michigan-Flint alumni in career development.
