Engineering Science

Assessment Summary for 2006-2007:

Engineering Science continues to assess student learning through independent faculty evaluations of students’ team written reports. Additionally, students are surveyed on the effectiveness, efficiency, and their comfort level for working in a team environment. These assessments take place in the program’s capstone course. A similar approach to student learning assessment will be expanded to additional courses throughout the engineering curriculum so that data may be collected at earlier intervals. Oral presentation evaluations will be conducted by both student peers and program faculty in key engineering courses. Students will take part in course assessments by submission of final course papers. The additional data collected in the earlier steps of assessment will further refine the programs objectives and goals and enhance program improvements.
