The Center for Applied Environmental Research (CAER) provides effective leadership in addressing environmental concerns, develops methods for understanding natural resources issues, identifies innovative funding opportunities, and assists communities with planning for land use, conservation and water quality. CAER provides state of the art technical tools, techniques, and learning to conserve land, water, and other natural resources in Michigan.
As a multi-disciplinary center of University Outreach at the University of Michigan - Flint, CAER consults, educates, facilitates, conducts research, and furnishes creative solutions to citizens, communities, and organizations. CAER's mission is to serve Michigan with knowledge and strategic guidance to both secure and leverage natural resources as essential assets in strengthening the economy, and improving our state's quality of life.
