Green Arts

Engaging the Arts with Nature

Community  The Green Arts Project provides opportunities for a deeper connection with art and nature.  Individuals and families gain new experiences with art and nature through our fun, creative and learning opportunities.
Artists  The Green Arts Project provides opportunities for exploration and artistic expression.  Programs help artists understand and experience nature.  The Project provides opportunities to express your art to new audiences in the community.
Environmental Advocates  The Green Arts Project provides opportunities to create a deeper awareness of nature.  By interacting with artists, local environmental advocates can reach new audiences and inspire community change.

Green Arts is supported through a generous grant from the Ruth Mott Foundation.

Southern Lakes Planning

Defining Community

The Southern Lakes Planning Initiative (SLPI)  is a diverse group of local government jurisdictions in Genesee County that formally includes the City of Linden, Mundy and Argentine Townships.  The SLPI has focused its efforts on defining community through the creation of a short film about the region, and by focusing planning efforts around recreation, sense of place, and beautification.  Southern Lakes Planning is supported through generous grants from the Saginaw Bay Watershed Initiative Network and the Land Policy Institute at Michigan State University.
