Where to start?

Before you begin applying for jobs and internships, make sure you have:

1. A resume and cover letter that sells your skills. Optimal Resume is a great tool to help you develop both of these documents.

2. Have your "sales pitch" ready for a recruiter. Career Spots videos are short, 3 minute videos to help you develop that sales pitch, as well as interview techniques, salary negotiations, and much more.

If you would like individual assistance, schedule an appointment with an advisor in the Student Success Center.

Job and Internship Listings

Career Connection

Career Connection is our official job, co-op and internship posting network AND web-based resume referral system. When employers post jobs with UM-Flint, the postings go directly into Career Connection. You can then search what's on the network, submit your resume and apply for positions. From the other end, employers searching Career Connection for qualified candidates for their openings may contact you with potential offers. Click here to log in.

Career Fairs

Career fairs are a great way to meet potential employers. Instead of cold calling, surfing the internet or spending time and money driving around, putting in applications, careers fairs offer the chance to network with employers in person and pass around your resume or business card. Click here to find out more about upcoming UM-Flint career fairs.
