Chancellor Candidate Harden to Visit Campus
The University of Michigan-Flint Chancellor Search Advisory Committee announced that Dr. Thomas Harden, President of Clayton State University in Morrow Georgia, will visit campus on May 1-2 for interviews and discussions with various constituencies. He is the first chancellor candidate to visit campus.
Harden has served as President at Clayton State University since 2000. During that time Harden has led Clayton State through a period of remarkable growth in student enrollment, academic programs, faculty size, fund raising, and facilities.
Harden came to Clayton State from Eastern Michigan University where he served as Dean of the College of Technology and Professor, 1993-2000. Harden began his academic career as a secondary school teacher and has also held faculty and administrative positions at Northern Kentucky University and several other institutions.
Harden has authored numerous research articles and other publications primarily in the area of technology in education.
Harden holds a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Cincinnati, a Master of Science degree from the University of Dayton, and Bachelor of Science degree from Miami University.
