Chancellor Search Update from President Coleman

Mary Sue Coleman
University of Michigan President Mary Sue Coleman

Dear Flint Campus Community:

I want to thank you for the many nominations of individuals to serve on the search advisory committee that will be charged with identifying candidates to be the next chancellor of the Flint Campus.  I am thrilled to share with you that Professor Keith Moreland, of the School of Management, has agreed to assist me with this important search and chair the search advisory committee.  Sue Fabbro, Executive Secretary for the Provost and Vice Chancellor, has also agreed to assist with the process and will be working with my staff liaison on the search.  I am very grateful to Keith and Sue for their willingness to serve in this capacity.  We are working on the composition of the entire search advisory committee and membership will be announced soon.

On September 27, I will be visiting the Flint Campus to receive input from faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the Flint Community regarding the upcoming search.  I invite you to attend an Open Campus Forum from 1:30 - 2:00 PM in the University Center Building's Riverview Room where comments and questions from the audience will be heard as time allows.  If you are unable to attend the Open Campus Forum, your thoughts, and suggestions continue to be welcomed and should be submitted to me at marysc@umich.edu; Professor Moreland, chair of the search advisory committee (moreland@umich.edu, 810-762-3264); or Lisa Connolly, staff liaison to the search (limajeff@umich.edu, 734-615-6275).

I look forward to visiting with you next week.

Sincerely,

Mary Sue Coleman
President
