The University of Michigan-Flint Honors Student Council is a student organization created to unite, assist, govern, and represent the Honors students of the University. Upon acceptance into the Honors Scholar Program, each student is granted membership and is encouraged to attend Council meetings, and participate in the election of class representatives.

Off-Campus Study Personal Narrative: Denver, Colorado

When I began to put my off-campus project together, I knew that I wanted to take on a project that I could apply to my own classroom when I became a teacher. I decided to stay within the United States. I had always wanted to see what Denver, Colorado, was like, so I focused my attention on that area. My emails received many replies, which proved difficult to choose from.

I choose the Castro Elementary project, headed up by Professor Steven Zucker. Mr. Zucker lent me a laptop and put me in charge of data entry. There were marking period grades, test scores, and questionnaire answers from eight different classrooms at Castro elementary that I had to log into my laptop. I ... more
