Service Opportunities:

Opportunity Title  Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

October 13, 2007

Description Making strides is a noncompetitive walk of about five miles, where participants in the walk raise pledges that will aid in finding a cure for breast cancer.
How to get involved: Pick up a pamphlet from the Biology Department (264 MSB) and start collecting donations.  Then on Oct. 13th join us at the park across from Genesee Valley Mall on Linden Rd. for the walk.  If you need more details feel free to contact a club officer!


Opportunity Title Visiting local high schools

Description Visits to local high school sophomore classes where we will attempt to increase knowledge of the biology programs here at UofM-Flint, with an emphasis in Molecular Biology.


Opportunity Title *Apple Cider/Donut Sale

November 15, 2006

Description We will be selling apple cider, donuts and taking orders for the club t-shirts.  The sale will run from 10am - 2pm.  All proceeds will be donated to the Holly Sucic Memorial Scholarship Fund and the American Cancer Society.
How to get involved: Contact a club officer if you can help run the table.  If you can't, just drop by and buy some cider and donuts!

Thank you to everyone who participated or donated!  Club members raised over $1,000 and the walk raised over $200,000.
