Fresh off the plane from
Detroit, MI to the wonderful state of California. After 6
hours of cramped flying and very little sleep club members
are ready to drop off all that luggage and get some lunch.
On the club's first night in
beautiful San Francisco they toured the Fisherman's Wharf.
It was such an exciting part of town and they also had the
opportunity to tour the Ripley's Museum and see some local
artists perform on the street.
On their
first real day of tourism they hit the staple of San
Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge. It was just beginning to
rain but with club members Andrea and Natalie's awesome
peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in their stomachs they
were happy.
With time to kill and the rain
not stopping the club members toured an aquarium by the
bay. They were treated to views of sharks and local
sea-life during a conveyered tour surrounded by water. Club
members Andrea and Alexis fend for their lunch as Dr. Sucic
cheers them on....ok, not really. It was actually a
cool hands on exhibit where they were able to touch rays,
sharks and stars!
Dr. Sucic and club president,
Jeremy Lynd, present their mammoth poster at the ASBMB
Conference. When the paparrazi and groupies died down they
took some time to snap a picture. Jeremy on presenting with
Dr. Sucic, "It was a lot of fun presenting with Dr. Sucic
and a real honor."
Being daredevil adventurers,
the club members decided to take the train back from
California. As you can see the landscape was nothing short
of breathtaking.
