Article I – Name
The name of the organization shall be the
at the University of Michigan-Flint, hereafter known as the organization.
Article II – Purpose
The purpose of this organization shall be
Article III – Membership
Any student at the University of Michigan-Flint and in
good academic, as defined by the University is eligible to be a member.
Individuals are considered members after having attended at least three (3) organization
functions. All membership shall be open in accordance to the University’s
Non-Discrimination Policy.
Article IV – Officers
Officers are elected from amongst the membership on the
third Monday of the Winter semester. They shall assume
their respective offices immediately following their election. The Officers
include:
President –
The President shall schedule
meetings, notify members of meetings, and preside over the business conducted at
meetings. The President shall also stand as a liaison between the organization
and the officers and officials of the University of Michigan-Flint.
Vice President –
The Vice President shall assist
the President in all matters of organization business and should the President
be unable to fulfill an obligation to the organization, s/he shall assume the
President’s position.
Secretary –
The Secretary shall post notice of
meetings, record all business conducted at meetings, and post minutes of the
meetings.
Treasurer –
The Treasurer shall keep all
copies of correspondence and financial records of the organization.
Article V – Advisor
The Advisor shall serve has a point of communication and
information for the organization. The Advisor shall be apprised within two (2)
business days of all organization activity.
Article VI – Meetings
Meetings are to be held once a month during major
semesters and are called by the President. Additional meetings may be scheduled
by the President as needed. Quorum is required to conduct any official
business. Quorum shall be defined as two-thirds (2/3) of the current
membership.
Article VII – By-Laws and Amendments
Amendments to this Constitution require the affirmative
vote of three-fourths (3/4) of the active membership, and be subject to review
by the Student Government Council, for said amendment to be adopted. By-laws of
the organization shall be established by the Executive Board. These by-laws
shall be the policies and procedures of this organization. By-laws of the
organization may not in any way conflict, or diminish the authority of this
Constitution.
Article VIII – Ratification
This constitution must receive a three-fourths (3/4) vote
of the membership to be adopted.
