New Student Welcome Day (Students Only)

Time: Workshops, Street Fair and Class Picture: 2:00 pm - 5:30 pm
Location: Harding Mott University Center
Parking: Mill Street Parking Deck

New Student Welcome Day events are for new students only and include a street fair, a class picture and workshops.
A complimentary lunch provided by your Student Government.


Convocation (Guests Arrive)

Your guests are cordially invited to join you at 5:30 pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 for the New Student Convocation program.

New Student Convocation marks the official beginning of a student’s college experience. Join the Chancellor, student leaders, executive officers and members of the faculty for this traditional ceremony at which each student will be presented with a memorable gift.


The Tradition of Convocation

The word convocation stems from the Latin word convocare, which means to call together or assemble. For academic institutions, convocation signals the start of a new academic year.
Dress is summer casual.
New students will be seated together.
Guests will be seated in another section.
