Assistant Professor of Engineering
The University of Michigan-Flint invites applications for appointment to the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor in Engineering beginning fall 2014. Minimum qualifications include a PhD in mechanical or other closely related engineering discipline with an undergraduate degree in engineering, evidence of competent teaching in an undergraduate engineering program, record of published research and ability to secure necessary resources for research, and experience or knowledge with ABET accreditation. Previous experience in teaching undergraduate courses in the areas of electro-mechanical, robotics and mechatronics or thermal systems is highly desirable. Duties include teaching a wide range of engineering courses; advising students; developing a research program involving undergraduate students that leads to refereed publications along with securing the necessary resources for that program; providing planning and assessment for the mechanical engineering program per ABET criteria; performing professional service at the department, college, and university levels including recruitment.

Assistant Professor of Computer Science
The University of Michigan-Flint invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to begin duties in Fall 2014. The position requires an earned doctorate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Computer Information Systems (by May 2014), demonstrated ability and commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching, professional development/research, and service. Preference will be given to candidates specializing in Computer Architecture but applicants in Computer Information Systems are also encouraged. The candidate selected for this position must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Additionally, the candidate must be able to communicate effectively in English.
