The Africana Studies Program at the University of Michigan-Flint
is designed to prepare students for the ever-demanding need to engage
and to function in a diverse society. The spirit of inquiry and
careful scholarship are the hallmarks of our approach to the various
disciplines of Africana Studies. The production of cultural workers-students
who would transform their communities-is central to the mission
of the department.
