Art Department

Look at the world through the eyes of an artist
To express detail in their work, artists must closely observe objects, people and other elements of their environment. To create aesthetic appeal, artists must demonstrate ability and a unique style. Maybe you have an eye for detail and the talent to be successful as an artist, but are unsure of pursuing it at a university. You may be surprised to learn that a degree in art can open the door to a number of careers, including advertising, animation, architecture, art therapy, fashion, film, fine art, graphic design, illustration, industrial design, multimedia, museums, photography and theatre.

Paint in a studio, teach in a classroom
From painting to graphic design and ceramics to photography, each step of the art process takes creativity and imagination. Our art program is part of a unique partnership between Mott Community College and the University of Michigan-Flint. Students can choose between the programs in studio art or art education. Within their program, students can concentrate in art education, art history, ceramics, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography and sculpture.
