Early Childhood Pedagogy and Practice Self –Evaluation

This self-evaluation is designed to provide an opportunity for you to reflect on your readiness to be a professional teacher and to apply what you have learned in your teacher preparation program. The items have been adapted from the Professional Standards Commission for Teachers document, Criteria for an Assessment of Pedagogy. There is no expectation that an individual nearing the completion of the teacher certification program will judge himself or herself to be "#4 (advanced)" in all categories. Where additional definitions or guidelines are provided, an individual indicating #4 (advanced) would be expected to have demonstrated all (not some) of the listed criteria. At the end of each section, please provide examples from your teaching experience with young children, which demonstrate your competence level.
