Music at UM-Flintxessions.

Music is the combination of sounds resulting in meaningful expression.

Music students at the University of Michigan-Flint study how these meaningful expressions are created by combining the elements of music: melody, rhythm, harmony, timbre, form and texture.

The Department of Music offers degrees in Music Education, Performance and a General Program in Music. Additionally an Honors degree program in music is available. Also available is a minor in Musical Theatre.

Music course offerings include performance ensembles, music theory and history, music technology and music education.

Music scholarships are available by audition to music majors, minors and students participating in ensembles.

University of Michigan-Flint Music Department is a member of the National Association of the Schools of Music.
