The Department of Political Science coordinates an internship program for undergraduate and graduate students in political science and public administration. The program helps students to gain relevant work experiences, to make valuable contacts in the Flint community, and to add an important line to their resume.
The coordinator of the Internship program is Mr. Tony Morolla (mmorolla@umflint.edu).
All undergraduate majors in the political science and public administration programs are required to enroll for at 3 or 6 credit hours of POL/PUB 390 Internship in Public Agencies.
Enrollment is generally limited to juniors, seniors and graduate students (in the Masters in Public Administration Program).
Interested students are urged to Consult the Internship Handbook for information on the process and expectations, and to complete and submit an Internship Application Form.
Graduate students enrolled in the Masters in Public Administration may enroll for up to 3 credits of PUB 590 Internship. Graduate students who are practicing administrators or who have had two years or more of experience in an administrative capacity are exempt from this requirement.
