Dr. Michelle O. Rosynsky, Director

Dr. Michelle O. Rosynsky is the new director of the WEC, arriving to campus in April 2005. Prior to joining the UM-Flint staff, Dr. Rosynsky worked as Assistant Director in the Office of Residence Life at Douglass College , a women's college, at Rutgers University , where she was responsible for staff development and educational programming. Throughout her 14 years in higher education administration, Dr. Rosynsky has focused on women's education and leadership development. As the Director of Pre-College and Undergraduate Programs for the Douglass Project for Rutgers Women in Math, Science and Engineering, she was responsible for creating support programs that encouraged women to pursue non-traditional careers. While completing research for her dissertation which focused on the career development and experience of women college/university presidents, Dr. Rosynsky served as a program assistant for the Institute for Women's Leadership at Rutgers . Dr. Rosynsky has also taught a women's leadership theory course, and has facilitated numerous workshops.

Vicky Dawson, Project Coordinator

Vicky Dawson is the project coordinator for the Women’s Educational Center. She graduated in May 2004, with a Bachelors degree in English and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. She worked as a work-study student in the Women’s Educational Center for two years, and was a tutor in the Writing Center for three years. After graduation, she worked as a desktop publisher, and last fall worked part-time as a writing tutor. Vicky has a passion for working with others and became the new project coordinator for the Women’s Educational Center December 2005. She is very happy to continue her work with women’s issues, and using her writing interests to support the work she does as project coordinator. She’s also an avid photography nut, and loves to take pictures of her family and nature. She’s also a strong advocate for moms on campus, knowing the challenges of being a student and parent. Vicky’s greatest goal is to give back to the university the support and encouragement she received in abundance from its faculty, staff and students.
