Annual Fund

Welcome to the University of Michigan-Flint’s Annual Fund website. It is our goal to invite new, renewed and increased participation from alumni, faculty, staff, friends and corporations who believe in supporting the UM-Flint mission. Your gift is more important than ever as public funding for higher education throughout the nation is slowly declining. Unrestricted gifts, such as those made to the Annual Fund, are also crucial because these donations can be used where the need is greatest.
An annual fund, sometimes called an Enrichment Fund, is the fund designated by the campus to procure unrestricted gifts for the unit. Gifts free of restrictions give deans and chancellors a reliable, flexible supply of funds that enable the unit to place resources where they are most immediately needed or where opportunities are greatest. Common uses of unrestricted funds include student aid, faculty support, emergency renovations, new academic initiatives, research assistance, and the purchase of books, collections, supplies and equipment.
Gifts of every size and every amount make a difference in the lives of our students and future alumni by giving them unique, real-world experiences. In fact, just last year, generous gifts to the Annual Fund provided:
- A computer programming student the opportunity to present his paper at aninternational conference on internet and multimedia systems
- An Anthropological Science Club student the experience of an excavation at Ashley National Forest in Utah
- An Honor’s Student the chance to do a Case Study in Hospital Operations focusing on Health Care Administration
This is just a sample of the Michigan Difference at work. For more information about making a gift to the Annual Fund, please contact Lisa Graham at (810) 767-2154 or by e-mail at grahamlm@umflint.edu.
Anyone who is an alumnus or alumnae of UM-Flint or has made a gift to a fundraising program is solicited annually by the organization with which they are affiliated.
If someone does not wish to be solicited, the person should call the Alumni Donor Help Line at (734) 647-6200 and request that the University code the person's record for NO Solicitation. Records can be coded to eliminate solicitations from a specific unit or from the University.
