University of Michigan-Flint

Scholarship Competition

The first annual University of Michigan-Flint Scholarship Competition took place on February 3, 2007.  This event hosted 46 high school senior students with exceptional demonstrated achievements in academia.  These students were invited to participate in a variety of activities including special presentations, a tour of campus, and personal interviews with the faculty, staff, alumni, and current students of the University of Michigan-Flint.

Every student who participated in the Scholarship Competition was awarded a $1,500 annual scholarship for four years based on application and acceptance to the University of Michigan-Flint.  Larger scholarship packages, up to and including full tuition, were also available to students who demonstrated extraordinary academic achievements.  In addition to monetary awards, students were also invited to apply to the University of Michigan-Flint Honors Scholar Program. If accepted, these students will be a part of this program’s prestigious history of undergraduate research, special academic enrichment activities, and off-campus study opportunities in the United States or abroad.

The students who participated in the 2007 Scholarship Competition represent future community leaders in the fields of business, health, art, science and education.  We are proud that these students have considered UM-Flint to pursue their dreams and look forward to offering them all the qualities of a University of Michigan-Flint education!
