Although Event and Building Services reminds our student employees all year long how important they are in the operation of the department, it is truly fitting they are given special recognition and the thanks from all EBS staff during National Student Employee Week. 

In Event and Building Services (EBS), student employees are an essential piece of what is required for the success of the day-to-day operation of the department as well as the building operation of the Harding Mott University Center.  EBS student employees are trained to work in a variety of positions including information desk clerks who may be the first UM-Flint employee a first-time visitor may encounter; setup workers who provide the labor needed to change over rooms from one event to another; office assistants who provide front line assistance in the room reservation process; event managers who may have sole responsibility for the building operation during the evening hours and weekends; bartenders who provide professional trained service at events involving alcohol; and dining services employees who provide support in the day to day operation of the kitchen that feeds the entire campus.  In all areas of EBS and during all hours of operation, a student employee works to ensure the needs of all customers and campus visitors are met. 

The staff in Event and Building Services applauds our valued student employees for their continued loyalty and dedication in helping to make EBS and the University of Michigan-Flint a place we all can be proud.
