Our primary mission of this homepage is to provide important environment, health and safety related information to the campus community. This includes information relevant to the EHS programs and guidelines established for the UM-Flint campus as well as general safety awareness information that would be of interest to University employees and the surrounding community.

The Environment, Health and Safety Department (EHS) is committed to providing quality services to the UM-Flint campus community while supporting the collective effort to provide a safe environment to work, teach and learn.
We all share in the responsibility of creating and maintaining a safe campus community while protecting our precious environmental resources. As part of these shared responsibilities, EHS is repsonsible for communicating relevant health and safety information and providing support services to all departments in an effort to create and maintain an environment that protects the health and well being of students, faculty, staff and the general public. Consistent with these stated responsibilities we work toward the following goals:
- Minimize health and safety risk to University employees, students and the general public
- Encourage appropriate environment, health and safety practices
- Monitor compliance with federal, state and local environment, health and safety regulations
- Minimize liability to the University
