Note: Foster care placement will be verified with DHHS for the sole purpose of determining potential eligibility for additional funding and support services. The definition of “placement” is restricted to licensed: group homes; emergency shelters; institutions with less than 25 youth; independent living housing for transitioning foster youth; certified foster homes with family members or non-family members.

The UM-Flint’s Mpowering My Success is a state funded program that will assist the young adult in removing obstacles while helping them understand their role in personal growth, career preparation, financial management, and academic success. In addition, Mpowering My Success will provide wrap-around support services throughout a student’s academic stay.
