What information is available to parents?

Due to the privacy rights given to students through the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the Office of Financial Aid is unable to provide information regarding a student's account to anyone but the student. More information about these privacy rights may be found on the Registrar's webpage.

Students are able to grant access to another person to view their records and information through the SIS Proxy system. This system allows a student to select not only specific people to view their information, but also what information they are able to view. The ITS Helpdesk webpage includes a guide to the SIS Proxy system that explains its purpose and use in greater detail.

Keep in mind that when contacting the Office of Financial Aid, whether in-person or over the phone, the student will need to be present to authorize a parent's access to their student records.
