Selecting study sties in the investigation of the american marten in Northern michigan - jeff bellinger

Jeff Bellinger is assisted Dr. Jill Witt, Biology, by performing the GIS analysis to help select study sites to examine the DNA characteristics and distribution of the American marten in northern portion of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

Smartzone feasibility - kristin bell and mike keller

Kristin Bell and Mike Keller are helped the GIS Center by performing data collection and GIS analysis on a grant titled "SmartZone Feasibility" funded by UM-Flint's EDA University Center for the Summer of 2017.  

California MMR Vaccination rates - erika anderson

As part of a research seminar class in the Earth and Resource Science Department, Erika investigated potential causes of low MMR vaccination rates in California and relate any clustering to measles outbreaks in 2014-15.  Check out her poster.

Areal Analysis of Crime Risk in Flint, MI – Alex Maguffee

Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) funded project that addressed the needs of law enforcement agencies to objectively quantify neighborhood level data as it relates to crime risk exposure variables.  Check out his poster.


City of Flint Parks Assessment – Laura Gallagher

State of Michigan and Crim Fitness Foundation sponsored project that identified areas of need for parks in Flint as a measure of demand by Flint population.  Check out the poster and the report.


Assessing Active transportation at the university of michigan-flint - Laura Gallagher

The study examines the current communting patterns of people travelling to the University of Michigan-Flint and tries to identify the influences in the transportation decisions of those people.  The researcher also examines the potential for a transport mode shift of the University community.  Check out her poster.
