The Geography, Planning, and Environment Department (formerly ERS) has multiple and interrelated components. The first is to understand the natural processes at work shaping our physical environment; second is to study the human response to those processes; and lastly to develop a means for students, faculty, and community to develop an appreciation for the character and complexity of environmental problems, so as to help make sound judgments about their resolution.
