Project Description:  This project entails analyses of how the local press covers work and labor market issues in the UAE. To date, several hundred articles have been collected as electronic text data files and read into N-VIVO. Also, work has begun on qualitatively coding the information in these files.

Semesters Desired:  Fall 2009; Winter 2010

GSRA Position Description:  Continue coding and development of coding framework. Collaborate on authorship of scholarly papers.

Specific Day/Time Requirements:  There are no specific "pre-set" times or days that the GRSA must be available. The work schedule is flexible.

Special Requirements:  Good command of written English, competency with N-VIVO software, familiarity with issues related to migrant workers, workplace justice, and implications of foreign labor market dominance for UAE nationals.
