Project Description:  To provide graduate students with a hands-on research experience in the management and marketing of a University Gallery. This would benefit both the student (as a relevant work experience within their field of study) as well as provide a benefit to the Gallery on the campus of UM-Flint.

Semesters Desired:  Fall 2011 AND Winter 2012

GSRA Position Description:  Daily, weekly and/or monthly management duties of operating a gallery, including a heavy emphasis on researching existing models of gallery funding and operations within an educational setting.  Other duties will include writing and publishing press releases, managing the exhibition schedule, installation and de-installation of exhibits, artists data management, inventory lists, catering requests, printing and distribution of media materials and general upkeep of the gallery space.

Specific Day/Time Requirements:  This is to be determined based on the schedule of the candidate- weekly hours would be required.

Special Requirements:  Relevant background in fine art, art history or museum studies, and currently participating in the Arts Administration program in good standing.
