Project Description:  This study involves analyzing and developing an analytical framework for a set of multivariate stochactic metrics to be used in routing for Wireless Mesh Networks. The author has already developed and published the univariate case. This will build upon that framework to extend it to multiple metrics which may have application areas in many real-world situations, including the highly popular Smart Grid initiative. Implementation of the developed analytical framework will be done in a simulation package or in a low-level programming language.

Semesters Desired:  Fall 2011 AND Winter 2012

GSRA Position Description:  1) Mathematical analysis and derivation of the multivariate case based on the univariate case

 2) Literature review in computer science networking and mathematics (esp in probability theory) to be able to do the necessary proofs,

  3) Software implementation of the developed analytical approach

  4) Theoretical bounds for performance in terms of analytical bounds as well heuristic, soft bound.

Specific Day/Time Requirements:  Very flexible.

Special Requirements:  1) Strong math background

 2) C++ and data structures and algorithms course (CSC 375)
