Project Description:  This is a qualitative research project which involves the analysis of narrative data from nursing student journals of students who particpated in service learning trips abroad. The journals cover many trips over several years; trips were to the Dominican Republic, Kenya, and Cambodia.

Semesters Desired:  Fall 2011 AND Winter 2012

GSRA Position Description:  The GSRA would collect, organize and analyze the narative data from the journals with faculty supervision.  Major themes and research findings are predicted to be discovered related to culture, care, health, and student views of culture and their ability to provide culturally congruent and competent care.
