Master of Arts in Arts Administration (MA) - Admission Requirements

Admission Requirements

Applicants must have earned a bachelor's degree in the arts (visual art, theatre, dance, music, etc) from an accredited institution and achieved a cumulative undergraduate grade point average of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants with a major other than the arts but a professional background in management may be considered if they demonstrate skills (performance, exhibits, directing, designing, etc) in one of the arts areas. Students without any academic or professional background in at least one of the arts areas will not be admitted.

To be considered for admission, an applicant must submit the following to the Office of Graduate Programs, 251 Thompson Library, by the application deadline:

 

Application Deadlines

The program has rolling admissions and reviews completed applications each month. To be considered for admission, an applicant must submit all application materials to the Office of Graduate Programs on or before the application deadline.

Application deadlines are as follows:

 Fall (early deadline*)  May 1
 Fall (final deadline)  August 1
 Winter  November 15
 Spring  March 15
 Summer  May 15

*You must apply by the early deadline to be eligible for scholarships, grants, and research asssistantships.

International students are required to apply earlier than the deadlines posted here. The final deadlines for international students are May 1 for the fall semester, September 1 for the winter semester, and January 1 for the spring term.
