Health Careers Day
On Friday, May 11th 2012 the Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) will hold its 3rd annual “Health Careers Day.” This event is educational and it exposes students to numerous careers and professions within the healthcare field. The purpose of this event is to give students the opportunity to meet with health professionals, ask questions, engage in health related activities, and possibly make long-term healthcare career goals. Some examples of the health professions who may be presenting at this event is a Registered Nurse, an EMT, Nutritionist, Dental Hygienist, Health Care Administrator, Medical Examiner, Physical Therapist, Health Educator, Doctor and an Epidemiologist. Also along with these health professionals we will introduce the students to a University of Michigan-Flint Admissions and Financial Aid Representative. The purpose of these representatives is to give the students an opportunity to ask questions about their future as a college student as it pertains to admissions and financial aid. These two areas are vital steps for the students achieving their goals as possibly future health professionals.
