Saturday Morning Academy
The Health Careers Opportunity Program is offering a 20 week program called Saturday Morning Academy that is designed to increase 9-12th grade students' awareness of health professions and enhance their ability to successfully compete for admission into college health profession educational programs.
SMA is a Saturday event and participants are expected to attend all sessions, to arrive on time, to actively participate and are expected to behave in a mature and acceptable manner.
Curriculum:
SMA will include health career exposure; math, science, ACT preparation, computer literacy and reading/writing activities to enhance students potential for college success.
Benefits:
- During this program students will gain knowledge and experience to help them increase their academic success.
- By participating each student can earn a stipend of up to $600.00.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must attend a Flint Area School, Flint Charter School or Genesee Early College.
- Must be in 9-12th grade
- Must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5
