This Quicknote details how to connect the iPhone and iPod Touch to the wireless network at the university.
Connecting to the Wi-Fi Network.
If their is already a computer MAC address registered within your SIS, you must stop by one of the helpdesk offices so that the MAC address can be manually put into our system. This quicknote will not work without the device being registered on our campus wireless network.
- Tap the settings button on the main screen of your iPod.

- Next tap the Wi-Fi button on the settings screen.

- Next turn the Wi-Fi network on by tapping
Click Image to Enlarge - Next select UMF_BASIC from the list of detected networks.

- Click the Arrow next to UMF_BASIC
- Scroll to the bottow of the UMF_BASIC Screen and choose Auto for the HTTP Proxy
Click Image to Enlarge - Then type http://cache.umflint.edu/cache.pac for the URL
- Now when you access the internet with Safari on your iPhone or iPod touch an authentication screen will come up
- On the authentication screen type your full email address (uniqname@umflint.edu) and your LAN password.
- Click Log In
You should now be able to access the internet with Safari on your iPhone or iPod touch .
