Installing the Persistent Security Agent:

The persistent Security Agent will be provided to you by ITS.
  1. Double-click the PersistentSecurityAgent.msi setup file.



  2. Click Next to continue setup.



  3. Click Finish to complete setup.



  4. Restart your computer.

Configuring Network Settings:

  1. Click the Start button.



  2. Click Control Panel on the Start menu.



  3. Double-click Network Connections in the Control Panel.



  4. Right-click your wireless network adapter.
  5. Click Properties on the context menu.



  6. Click the Wireless Networks.



  7. Click Add on the Wireless Networks tab.



  8. Enter UMF_HOUSING_RESIDENT in the Network name (SSID) field.
  9. Select WPA2 from the Network Authentication drop down menu.
  10. Select AES from the Data encryption drop down menu.
  11. Click the Authentication Tab.



  12. Select Protected EAP (PEAP) from the EAP type drop down menu.
  13. Click Properties on the Authentication tab.



  14. Uncheck the Validate server certificate checkbox.
  15. Select Secured password (EAP-MSCHAP v2) from the Authentication Method drop down menu.
  16. Click Configure in the Authentication Method section.



  17. Uncheck the Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) checkbox.
  18. Click OK on the EAP MSCHAPv2 Properties dialog.
  19. Click OK on the Protected EAP Properties dialog.



  20. Click OK on the Connection Properties dialog.




Authenticating the Connection:

  1. Click the Wireless Network Connection balloon to initiate the authentication process.



  2. Enter your uniquename in the User name field.
  3. Enter your LAN password in the Password field.
  4. Enter FLINT-NT in the Logon domain field.
  5. Click OK.



  6. Enter your uniquename in the User name field.
  7. Enter your LAN password in the Password field.
  8. Click Login.



  9. Click Close to complete the authentication process.



You are now connected to the housing wireless network.
