If you are configuring Outlook from home you must be connected to the VPN.  On-campus Outlook will prompt you to log in with your uniqname@umflint.edu and your LAN password.

  1. Click Start if you are using XP or the Windows Orb if you are using Vista.


  2. Click Control Panel.

  3. Switch to Classic View.

  4. Click Mail. Vista and XP will be the same after this point.


  5. Click Add a new e-mail account then click Next.

  6. Click Microsoft Exchange Server.

  7. For the Microsoft Exchange server type in its-smb1.umflint.edu if you are a student or ex07mb1.umflint.edu if you are faculty or staff. In the User Name field type in your last name, your first name, then click Check Name

  8. If you have the right server and the right user name the server will underline your user name and will be displayed all in capital letters and underlined. If this is correct click Next.

  9. Click Finish.

Open Outlook and it will download your emails.
