Important Reminder: Read below about Microsoft Word 2007 if you are turning in papers online or attaching files.
Microsoft Word 2007: Most professors did not upgrade to Windows Vista when we upgraded the labs. Because of this, the default setting for Microsoft Word 2007 will automatically save your word document as a
docx file.
Anyone who does not have Microsoft Word 2007 cannot open a docx format file, which means your professors may not be able to open docx files on the computers they use to grade in their offices. However- you can save your Microsoft file as a Microsoft Word 2003 document. After you click on the Vista button at the top of the Microsoft Word 2007 page, a box will appear:

Go under Save As and then click on Word 97-2003 Document. This will save your document after you put in the proper information for naming the file as a file that anyone with Microsoft Word 97-2003 can open.
How do I log off?
To log off, you must click on the Vista Start button.

After you press that button, you should have a box that resembles the following pop up:

The blue arrow box next to the Lock Box is the button you want to press in order to log off. The circle with the line in it will restart the computer. While it may log you off, it will inconvienence anyone using the computer after you because they have to wait for it to load again.
We strongly encourage you to Log Off the computers in the computer labs so your information is kept safe. Pick the
Log Off option and then you will be logged off from the Vista Machine.
