Before You Begin:Before you complete the following steps, you must first obtain the Pharos Popup protocol installer. This software is available from the following sources:

• The ITS Helpdesk (207 MSB)
• The MACpub directory on the UM-Flint network.
• The Pharos website: http://www.pharos.com/support/mac/index.html
  

Installing the Pharos Popup Protocol:

1. Double-click the Popups disk image.

2. Double-click the Popups installer package.

3. Click Continue on the Popup Installer.

4. Click Continue on the Popup Installer.

5. Click Macintosh HD on the Popup Installer (your install volume may have different name).
6. Click Continue on the Popup Installer.

7. Click Install on the Popup Installer.

Configuring Print Settings:

1. Click the Spotlight Icon in the upper-right corner of the screen (looks like a magnifying glass).

2. Enter system preferences in the Spotlight search field.
3. Select System Preferences from the Spotlight search results.

4. Click Print & Fax in System Preferences.

5. Click the Add Printer ( + ) button in the Print & Fax preference pane.

6. Depress and hold the ctrl key on your keyboard. Click Default on the Add Printer toolbar. Release the ctrl key.

7. Click Customize Toolbar... on the context menu.

8. Click and hold Advanced on the Toolbar customization box. Drag Advanced onto the Toolbar. Release the mouse button.

9. Click Advanced on the Add Printer toolbar.

10. Select Pharos Print Server from the Type drop-down menu.
11. Enter popup://Uniprint.umflint.edu/main in the URL field.
12. Select Generic PostScript Printer from the Print Using drop-down menu.
13. Click Add on the Add Printer preference pane.

Printing a Document:

1. Click File on the Menu Bar.
   
2. Click Print on the File Menu.

3. Select uniprint.umflint.edu on the Printer drop-down menu.
4. Click Print on the Print dialog box.

5. Enter your Uniqname in the Please enter your Username or Logon ID field.
6. Enter your LAN password in the Please enter a password for this job field.

Uniprint configuration is complete. Your document will be available to print on Lab Printers, the Housing Printer, and other Uniprint locations.
