To Change Your LAN Password: The LAN password guidelines require a length of at least eight characters and enabled password filtering to disallow commonly used passwords ( "password" or "thisismypassword").
If you type your password incorrectly three times, your LAN account will be locked. Please contact the ITS HelpDesk for assistance unlocking your account. Otherwise, your account will automatically unlock in 30 minutes.
Option 1: Change Password within Internet Service Manager.

Option 2: On-Campus (Faculty and Staff Only).

Option 3: Change Password through SIS (Students Only)
This method will change both LAN and Kerberos password.
You must follow Kerberos restrictions as well to set your password this way.

Changing your password in this manner will change BOTH your LAN password (used for logging into computers on campus, email, and Blackboard) and your Kerberos/Ann Arbor password (accessing Mirlyn, and editing your UMICH directory entry). If you wish to change ONLY your LAN password please follow Option 1, Option 2, or stop by the ITS HelpDesk with a picture ID
Option 4: Bringing Picture ID to the Helpdesk
You can also come to any of the ITS Open Computer Labs (3174 WSW, 205FH, 206 MSB) or the Housing HelpDesk with a picture ID and we can assist you with changing your password. (See www.umflint.edu/helpdesk for the current semester hours)
