Connecting to the UMF_SECURE Wireless Network:

1. Click the Apple Icon in the top left of the screen
2. Click System Preferences
3. Click Network (Third column down)
4. Click the Location drop-down menu in Network Preferences.

5. Select Edit Locations in the Location drop-down menu.

6. Click the Add Location ( + ) button in the Locations menu.

7. Enter a name for your campus settings (ex. umflint).
8. Click Done.

9. Click AirPort in the adapters list.

10. Click UMF_SECURE in the Network Name Field
11. In the 802.1X Authentication box type your Uniqname@umflint.edu and LAN password
• If you type the wrong password here there is now an easy way to fix this.
• In the Network Preferences Box, click the AirPort option
• Click Advanced
• Click the tab 802.1X
• Click the arrow next to User Profiles on the Left
• Click WPA: UMF_SECURE
• Click the minus sign "-" in the bottom of the left window. Your old profile has now been deleted and when you open a web browser it will ask for your login information again.
12. Click Advanced in Network Preferences.

• Snow Leopard
• Click Proxies
• Check Automatic Proxy Configuration
• Type http://cache.umflint.edu/cache.pac in the URL blank.
• Click OK
• Leopard
• Click Proxies
• Click Using a PAC File in the drop down list
• Type http://cache.umflint.edu/cache.pac in the PAC File URL
• Click OK
14. The steps for Leopard and Snow Leopard will now be the same again. Click Apply in Network Preferences.

16. Click Show Certificate in the Verify Certificate dialog box (it may take a few moments for this to appear).

17. Check Always trust "its-dc-2"

19. Enter your System Password in the Password field of the Authentication dialog box twice - one box will hide behind the other windows.
20. Click OK.

You are now connected to the campus wireless network.

Configuring Your Browser
Safari

When using Safari on a Mac OS you do not need to do anything with the browser.  Configuring the location will allow for Safari to connect properly.

1. Open Firefox
2. Click Firefox - found in the top left of the window
3. Click Preferences
4. Click Advanced
5. Click the Network Tab
6. Click Settings
7. Select Automatic Proxy Configuration URL
8. Type http://cache.umflint.edu/cache.pac
