The Uniprint printing solutions in these locations are being replaced by the PaperCut printing solution.  The directions in this document will assist you in using this new printing solution with your personal laptop.


Adding a Printer *** You must be on campus or connected to the VPN before attempting to add a printer.*** Vista: 
  1. Click the Start Orb
  2. Type Printers in the search bar
  3. Press Enter
  4. Click Add a Printer
  5. Click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer
  6. Click The printer that I want isn’t listed
  7. Select the option entitled Select a shared printer by name
  8. Choose one of the following printers to add and type the path as shown.
    • Black and White Prints: \\papercut\MAIN
    • Color Prints: \\papercut\MAIN-COLOR
  9. Click Next
  10. Click Install Driver if prompted
  11. Click Next once the printer has been successfully added
  12. Click Finish to close the add a printer wizard
XP: 
  1. Click the Start Button
  2. Click Control Panel
  3. Click Printers and Faxes
  4. Click Add a Printer
  5. Click Next
  6. Select A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer
  7. Click Next
  8. Select Connect to this printer
  9. Choose one of the following printers to add and type the path as shown.
    • Black and White Prints: \\papercut\MAIN
    • Color Prints: \\papercut\MAIN-COLOR
  10. Click Next
  11. Select No on using this printer as a default printer
  12. Click Next
  13. Click Finish
How to Print
  1. Open or Create your document as you normally would
  2. Click Print
  3. Select the printer appropriate type of printer for the job you will be printing
    • Black and White Prints: \\papercut\MAIN
    • Color Prints: \\papercut\MAIN-COLOR
Releasing the Job to the Printer
  1. Go to one of the Open Lab Locations or PaperCut Print Stations on campus
  2. Login to the PaperCut site using the following credentials
    • Username: uniqname
    • Password: LAN password
  3. Click Login You should now see all of your jobs listed on the screen
  4. Click Release All on the top left of the screen To clear all of your jobs at once click Clear All in the top left of the window
  5. Your Print should now be available on the printer next to the release station
  6. Click Done, found on the bottom right of the screen in the PaperCut Application to logout
  7. Retrieve your print off of the printer
